This house had everything we needed and more! It is very comfortable with chic antique decor. The stay started off a little rocky since we chose the house based on there being a Lily pad mat for the grandkids to play on. When we arrived, we discovered that a recent storm had destroyed it. We contacted Tiffany and she soon got back to us that the owners son was 2 doors down and had located a lily pad and would bring it the next day, which he did! Thank you so much! Our grandchildren would have been very disappointed. The son was very nice and helped us "unlock" the dishwasher while he was there as well. You could tell that the family that owns the cabin had lived there because there were a lot of extras that other houses that we have rented have not had. There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, even hand soap! There were 2 refrigerators plus a small one on the deck. The beds were very comfortable (and had mattress pads--a pet peeve of mine) and the linens were nice. The air conditioning worked well. The house was clean. No problem with plumbing, etc. The only negative that I can think of was the stairs do not have a hand rail. Not really an issue for us, but you have to watch your step.
Now for the outside! First of all, everything was clean! We have rented houses that had yards and decks that had not been cared for. Someone must have blown off the leaves and pine straw and the landscaping was nice and neat. Parking was good with a paved driveway and parking. The deck off the main living area was wonderful. The cedar gliders and Adirondack chairs were so nice to drink coffee and enjoy the beautiful view of the lake in the mornings. The outside rug was clean. The ceiling fans worked well. There were outdoor shades on this deck to deflect the hot afternoon sun if needed. The steps down to the lake are not too steep. The covered boathouse has a table and chairs and a wonderful swing (but not the kids swing in the picture-insurance issues!) and is a great place for the older generation to sit in the shade and enjoy watching the younger ones swim. There are steps into the lake as well as a ladder handy for swimming. We enjoyed having the jetski ramp for our Seadoo. We appreciated the option of having the two paddle boards for the kids to use, but especially the Lily Pad. It was a big hit! The underwater light made swimming at night exciting for the kids as well. The location of the property makes water activities nice. The neighbors were not too close and the open water was visible from the dock and deck areas. It also faces West, so the sunsets were amazing. So, we loved this house! Thanks to the Smiths for allowing us to use it. We plan to rent it again this Fall. And stay longer!
